Founding Date and Story
CAT & ASHE Ltd was founded in 2005 by Jonathan Carter, a seasoned construction claims expert with over 20 years of experience in the industry. The company was born out of a critical need the founder identified during his tenure as a claims consultant for major infrastructure projects: the lack of specialized, client-focused support for navigating complex construction disputes and procurement challenges. Starting as a small consultancy in Uganda, CAT & ASHE aimed to bridge this gap by offering tailored solutions in Construction Claims, Dispute Resolution, and Contracts & Procurement Advisory. The founder’s vision was to empower construction firms with the expertise to resolve disputes efficiently and secure fair outcomes, inspired by a costly delay claim he resolved for a client early in his career, saving them lots of money.

Since its inception, CAT & ASHE has achieved significant milestones that underscore its growth and impact in the construction consultancy sector:
2008: Secured its first major contract with a leading UK infrastructure firm, providing dispute resolution services for a £150 million rail project, successfully resolving a multi-party delay claim within six months.
2012: Expanded internationally by opening an office in Dubai, UAE, to support the Middle East’s booming construction sector, advising on high-profile projects like the Dubai Metro extension.
2016: Celebrated a decade of service by publishing a widely acclaimed white paper, Navigating Construction Disputes: Best Practices for the Modern Era, which became a reference for industry professionals.
2019: Achieved a 95% success rate in resolving construction claims, earning recognition as a finalist in the Construction Excellence Awards for “Best Consultancy Service.”
2023: Partnered with a global law firm to launch a Contracts & Procurement Advisory division, advising on £500 million worth of contracts in its first year, including a landmark renewable energy project in Scotland.
