Ann Namara

Ann Namara is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda with over 15 years of experience and is the Managing and Founding Partner of Namara Musinguzi & Co. Advocates, which specialises in Arbitration, Construction Law, and Corporate Governance. Renowned for her analytical skills and attention to detail, Ann is frequently appointed as an arbitrator, adjudicator, dispute board member, and counsel in arbitration matters and construction disputes. Ann is retained by leading players in the construction industry to offer legal advisory and support in respect to construction disputes.

Ann is also a thought leader in the arbitration and construction space and consistently publishes articles on these topics. She is a sought-after panellist and trainer on arbitration and construction-related matters and has participated in panel presentations and trainings for entities like the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Uganda Chapter, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Kenya Branch, International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitration & ADR Forum (ICC YAAF), the Uganda Law Society and Construction Law Institute Limited.

Ann is the Director & Head of Faculty at the Construction Law Institute, an organisation engaged in research, training, and alternative dispute resolution in the construction space in Uganda. In addition, she is the editor-in-chief of the institute’s annual digest. She serves as the Head of the Education & Training Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Uganda Chapter and as the editor-in-chief of the chapter’s quarterly newsletter. In November 2025, Ann was recognised by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Uganda Chapter as the Female ADR Professional of the Year 2025.

Ann holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and a Fellow of Construction Law Institute Limited.
